She said, “It is extremely humbling and quite unbelievable that I have secured one of the top scores among thousands of students. I would like to thank my parents and teachers who supported me wholeheartedly. I always studied to learn and not to just pass a certain exam, and that I think is the key to success. Also, I was fortunate to have some of the best teachers at AKHSS.”

Mariam and Urooj were also invited to talk about their achievements on a television show. They discussed study tips and how they balanced academics, extra-curricular and social life.

Shamsa Hafeez, from the Aga Khan School in Garden, secured the third position in Pakistan in the Secondary School Certificate with a 93% score. Shamsa hopes to study pre-engineering at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School in Karachi starting next academic year. An exemplary student throughout her academic career, she also helped her fellow students with their school work. The school principal, Tasneem Amin, said, “Shamsa’s outstanding support for others has resulted in increased average scores in all subjects for other students.”
