Meet our alumni: Ms Prathyusha Reddy
Meet Ms Prathyusha Reddy, a Class of 2007 alumna of the Little Star High School, Adilabad. Currently the school’s primary section head, Ms Prathyusha reflects on her journey from student to educator and leader.
I take pride in being an alumna of this school and now a dedicated member of its teaching staff. My profound passion for education was ignited by the exceptional educators who guided me during my academic journey, including Mr Badala Giridhar Reddy, Mr Peddireddy Arogya Reddy, Ms Mary Saritha Rani and many others. Their influence has significantly shaped my teaching philosophy, emphasising the importance of imparting knowledge and nurturing young minds. With a Master of Arts, a Bachelor of Education, certification in child education and expertise in arts and crafts, I have built a strong foundation for my teaching career.
My journey at the school began as a pre-primary teacher on 1 January 2015. This decision was strongly influenced by my child's upcoming enrolment in the school and my firm belief that the pre-primary classroom fosters pure happiness. Within three years, I refined my teaching skills and earned a promotion to the role of pre-primary section head.
Attending a training session held for teachers at the Diamond Jubilee High School, Mumbai further ignited my passion for connecting with children and deepened my love for preschool teaching. With the support of Principal Mr Kamalakar Reddy from my alma mater and encouragement from the Aga Khan Education Service (AKES), India’s Manager for Early Childhood Education Programmes, Ms Purvi Gogri, I embarked on a leadership journey, earning recognition for our school's excellence in the region and the state. Eventually, I achieved the role of primary section head at the school.
My commitment to AKES, India’s vision and my dedication to my work have opened doors to leadership opportunities as I stand strong in my sixth year in the role. The unwavering support of AKES, India's leadership has propelled me forward. Serving at my alma mater, alongside the teachers who once inspired me, is a true honour.
My guiding motto is clear: to serve my school and provide the best education to our students. As I continue this fulfilling journey, I remain steadfast in nurturing young minds, upholding educational standards and positively impacting our students and community.
