The Diamond Jubilee High School, Shimshal, is over 70 years old, having been established as a primary school in 1946. It was first upgraded to a middle school in 1985, then to a high school in 2001.
The school serves over 287 students, 28% of which are female. English is the medium of instruction and the school teaches pre-primary through high. There are 16 teachers present, and the building boasts a total of 15 classrooms. The school offers facilities such as a science laboratory, an ICT laboratory, a library, a sports ground, and a multi-purpose hall.
The school teaches an enhanced version of the national curriculum, and is affiliated with the Karakorum International University Education Board.
The school offers professional development to all its staff, taking place once a month for 6 hours each, totaling 72 hours per year.
Admissions take place from March through April.
