School Infrastructure

With new infrastructure, the Little Star High School, Adilabad (LSHSA) is equipped with the necessary facilities to support the holistic development of each child.

Teaching and Learning

School Library
LSHSA has a well-maintained library for its Primary and Secondary sections, with a vast collection of over 4,000 books, encyclopaedias, picture books, activity books, dictionaries and literature in Hindi, Telugu and English. The library also subscribes to numerous national and international periodicals, journals and newspapers. Students are encouraged to spend time in the library during their breaks and free periods. The librarian, along with teachers, conduct various language development activities to enhance students’ vocabulary and comprehension.

LSHSA has small independent class libraries for its Pre-Primary Section, as well as a toy library where parents can borrow toys to take home every week.

Computer Laboratory
LSHSA has a computer laboratory to encourage students to advance their computer skills, using a host of integral tools under the guidance of an experienced mentor. All of the computers are equipped with updated software and LSHSA has a sufficient number of computers to ensure each student can access one during regular computer classes.

Science Laboratories
LSHSA has a well-equipped, newly-renovated science laboratory for physics, biology and chemistry to provide hands-on experiences. Science teachers, along with the laboratory assistant, plan various demonstrations and experiments to ignite students’ curiosity and interest. Students are taught to handle complex lab equipment to enable them to conduct experiments under the supervision of their trained teachers.

Sports Facilities

Mathematics Laboratory
The mathematics laboratory at LSHSA is equipped with Jodo Gyan kits and study materials from Navnirmiti. It provides concrete, hands-on, mathematical learning experiences for students.

Audio Visual Facilities
In addition to the computer laboratory, LSHSA has dedicated equipment to aid in-class audio visual learning. Teachers have additional access to portable DLPs and audio-visual systems that can be taken from one class to another.

Teacher Resource Centre
The Teacher Resource Centre (TRC) is a large, well-equipped, air-conditioned room with internet connectivity, and is equipped with computers and teaching resources, as well as a projector and screen. It is used for weekly coordination meetings, training programmes and lectures for and by the teachers.

LSHSA has a well-maintained modern sports facility promoting indoor and outdoor sports activities. With two trained physical education instructors for the Primary and Secondary Sections, students practise sports such as basketball, volleyball, athletics, badminton, speedball and kabaddi in the outdoor space. In the indoor space, recreational activities including yoga, fitness and board games are practised to help students to enhance their cognitive and social skills.

Health and Wellness

Medical Camp
An annual medical camp is arranged for students on the school campus. A team of specialised doctors are invited to the school for an entire day to conduct health checks and educate students on the importance of looking after their health, covering topics such as fitness, hygiene and nutrition.

First Aid Kits and Training
Well-stocked first aid kits are available in designated areas in the school and all staff receive first aid training annually.

Safety and Security

Earthquake and Fire Evacuation Drills
All of our students are prepared for potential disasters with three fire evacuation drills and one earthquake drill conducted annually. Students are made aware of the dos and don’ts during a drill so that they are able to adhere to the procedure in case of a real disaster.

Secure Campus
There are two security guards at the two entry and exit gates during the daytime. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance, ensuring the safety of students.
